Met By Chance Part 9

The house was a complete mess, dust and spider-webs became a common sight after Myra took a look at the house. The toilets were frightening as they were the dirtiest. She was sure that Shashrek was embarrassed to present such a house to her.
‘When is your maid coming?’ she asked
‘She said she will come tomorrow’
‘Tomorrow? You mean we will have to stay in this filth for one whole day, I have a better option. Let’s go to my place!’
‘No Myra! Please we have to deal with this problem too, I mean we have to work as a team right? Later in life if we are together, we just can’t avoid such situations right?’
‘So he is thinking on those lines “we are together” not bad’ Myra thought.
‘Okay, fine I will do the rooms and you do the bathroom’ she said

And Shashrek obeyed her orders. They were a good team as they were able to tidy up the place within two hours; Myra even washed some utensils so that she could treat them with a hearty meal. Shashrek’s kitchen was equipped with almost everything and it was cleaner than the rest of the places.
After eating their lunch they both decided upon a nap, Myra wasn’t able to find a fresh sheet for her bed and got a little panicky.
‘You go ahead and sleep in my room; I will sleep on the sofa’ Shashrek offered
‘No its okay, I will sleep on the sofa’
‘Myra it’s not clean, all dust on the sofa and trust me with your allergies you shouldn’t really keep close distance with dust’

‘You should have said that two hours ago but anyways you are right, sleep on the sofa and I will enjoy your bed as I did more work’
With that she left and took a long nap. In her dreams she saw that she was in her wedding trousseau and was ready for marriage but before she could see who the groom was, Shashrek woke her.
 ‘What?’ she said
‘Phone for you’
‘Oh thanks!’
Seven missed calls, three of Tara and four of Naina when she saw her phone. She thought of calling Naina first as work related problems became her first priority.
‘Hey Naina, you called what happened?’
‘Are you free?’
‘Why?’
‘I was thinking maybe we could go to the club, I have got VIP passes for us, are you game?’
‘Naina, I don’t know I just moved in with Shashrek today, sort of tired maybe next time’
‘If that is the case then how about next weekend? Bring Shashrek along too’
‘Yeah, next week I think we will be able to make it’
Shashrek was keen on going to club in the following week. He and Myra even went to the mall so that he could shop for some new clothes; Myra picked a few shirts for him which he liked. He was surprised that she liked almost everything that he liked. Shashrek in his heart knew that he loved Myra tremendously but he was taking time to accept it. Their club night was amazing and they both enjoyed themselves. In the end while leaving the club, some guy was checking out on Myra, furious by this, Shashrek went up to the guy and asked what his problem was. Myra was surprised at his reaction.
‘You know you could have ended up in a fight with that guy’
‘But what he was doing was wrong’ Shashrek said
‘What was he doing exactly?’ Myra asked
‘Hmm…he was..err..you know…not looking properly, you know at you’
‘If that is the case then who are you to say that, my brother or boyfriend?’
And Shashrek started to blush, he knew the answer to the question but failed to say it. Myra could perfectly understand and decided not to continue the topic.

Everything was in the right place until…
At the end of the second month, Shashrek received a call from his parents. They were on their way to Delhi and were coming to meet him. The problem arose when he realized that he hadn’t informed his parents about Myra.
‘They don’t know?’ Mrya asked blankly
‘I forgot to tell them’ Shashrek replied
‘After five months you realised this, how fortunate’
‘Look, it’s not going to be a problem with them, I will handle’
‘Really? What do you plan to say?’ Myra asked (grabbing her only chance to see what he feels for her)
‘Man, this was not supposed to happen this way. But I guess I have no choice but to do it like this’
‘Do what?’ asked Myra curiously. Butterflies in her stomach, she could finally see it happening or…
‘No, wait’ Shashrek said
‘What?’ Myra said coldly
And Shashrek went inside his room without saying anything else. ‘What the hell’ Myra thought. She was getting curious now; she wanted to know what was happening around her, Shashrek was acting a little sneaky all of a sudden.
Myra prepared a lavish dinner for his parents ‘put your best efforts’ she constantly reminded herself, meanwhile Shashrek let his father and mother know about Myra over phone.
‘But are sure about this? And for your information Sonali already told us months ago, we thought you will tell us when things are more concrete’ his father said.
‘Oh, no wonder you are so cool with it. And I am sure of my decision, just needed your approval’
‘You have my approval but your mother is keen on seeing her first’
And so it happened, Mr and Mrs Gupta arrived at their scheduled time, Shashrek’s parents saw Myra as a very courteous and well to do girl. Myra’s food impressed Shashrek’s mom, she gave her heads up to Shashrek. Myra was unaware of all the planning that was going on...

‘I hope you know what you are doing, and you love her right?’ his mother asked
‘Ma, she is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I know exactly what I am doing’
‘I am happy for you son, she is a lucky girl and you are a lucky boy too!’
Shashrek smiled and just needed the perfect timing…
