The Sad Song & Lost Hope

Hidden inside a cave, I buried my friend
sadness.

Long before I knew, she was handed a bait,
An old man’s death and lost youth opened gate.

Hollowness grew with grief inside, legs lost balance
and feet went numb
Oh dear sadness, you could’ve least rung!

She stood firm with a dagger to the heart,
“Dear friend” she said “let’s play a game of card”

Wry was the feeling, I knew she was clever
Must she come with a strong wager!

Virtuously promised she will return from
 where she came
Ignorant to her shrewd skill, I joined the game.

Unbothered by chance, she played her hand
Oh! It was close, getting dangerously grand!

For days the game went on and thus came to an end.

Hidden inside a cave, I buried my friend
happiness.

Testing are these times, testing is our will. Sometimes we fair fine, other times we’re ill!
