Lover's Reality

She reminds me of the Florentine summer;
journey I most cherish and remember.
He looks at me like he has found his Juliet, only I am
not promised to this Romeo as yet.
She pretends but I can see love that she holds,
Will someone tell him we're just friends and nothing more.

I don't want to ruin her smile,
it's like Aprodite; beautiful and divine.
Holy Hera! Why should he be so kind?
Feelings have no room, please leave this behind!
Abandon me not my feelings, they're pure as gold.
You don't understand, I have no gold!

Swords, knights and flags sway,
This is love; doesn't just march away!
I beg thee, don't punish me so, it's killing me slow!
Killing you? I already died, when you chose that rich, cunning pig!
You think I chose him? He chose me! I didn't have a choice!
Well, you do now.

And so she waited till her betrothal,
He kept silent, watching her walk the aisle made him wonder
'Is she going to do it?'
She clutched the locket against her, magic was to happen.
'I, do' chuckled the ugly bastard, no magic occurred. 'I, do' said she.
Real life need not
have happy endings, what did you think? Its just reality!

The lover's life did indeed end well, he married off later to another heartbroken Belle.
She though lived an unhappy life, regretted the moment when she made the choice.
