Movie Mania : Begin Again
Begin again. That’s the only voice I hear these days. Not only
is the story absolutely riveting, the songs are soulful and another USP! Of course,
if one expects to see Adam Levine (Front-man of the band Maroon-5), there must
be music, his music. However, it may
surprise many that most of singing in this film has been done by the hero of
the film. That is none other than the leading lady and awfully talented, Keira
Knightly. Honestly, those few lines feel like I have been scripting some award
function.
Now, coming back to the story, it’s simple and not at all
complicated. As the title suggests, begin again. Once famous but now washed up,
record label executive, Dan struggles to keep his name in the latest and
changing music world. However, he is fired due to his unprofessional attitude
(something Mark Ruffalo does very well) which actually corresponds to his
emotional issues with his estranged wife and teenage daughter. With suicidal
tendencies, Dan visits a bar on the day he gets fired and is mesmerised by a
lost artist’s music. Greta has her own stuff to deal with; a cheating boyfriend
and the loneliness in New York City.
Although, she survives with the help of
her music and Dan, who wants to make an album with her. Soon enough, you see
music and magic circling the streets of New York City as they create an album
with the city, for the city.
It would be unfair if I didn’t credit Mark Ruffalo for his
performance. He did a marvellous job with the right amount of depth in the
character. Though, I don’t pretend to be a character expert but I do know when
a man’s portrayal broken and when it’s actually
broken. Dan succumbs to alcohol but his love for music overpowers it.
No spoilers because I want all of you to enjoy this lovely
film with excellent cameos and dialogues!
The blogger feels she
should write more often but if only Physics got into her , would be real magic!
But she wants you all to
read no matter what!
