Venom : Part 5
'Have you been thinking about it more lately?' her words were strongly consolidated. She sat on the chair infront with her clip board. She noted almost everything Meera had spoken about in the last three years.
'It keeps coming up. The dreams haven't changed nor has my acumen altered in any way' Meera held the rubix cube in her hand, still toying with it.
'What about your partner's demise?'
'People have been supportive'
'They have?' the psychologist asked impassively.
'Yes, collateral damage is inevitable. Akash was one too'. She noted something else on her paper, her eyes seemed to do all the talking for Meera.
'What about at present?'
'I'm completely f***ed' Meera answered blantantly.
'I have been gunning this case for over two years and still haven't found a solid lead. My personal life is completely hollow. I'm not sure if I would want to live anymore'
'Have you been taking your pills, Meera?'
'No, I stopped'
'Why?'
'Because how much I curse my current state, this has been the best thing after the accident or Akash's death'
'You just talked about committing suicide' the doctor asked, perplexed.
'Well, that's because I've been consumed so much in this case that if anything goes wrong now, I will have nothing to do with life'
'Any new people in your life lately?'
'Not really, just one add-on. She's my roommate and colleague. Bright, young and genius'
'Sounds like your sister'
'Honestly, I think she is like one too'
'Has she evoked any past sentiments regarding the accident?'
'Might be, she is orphan too. Parents died in a crash'
'Have you opened up to her?' Meera didn't respond. She never really opened up to anyone easily. Therapy was an official thing, she would never go and see a shrink herself. She didn't want to visit today either but it had been due since a long time. Finally, Vashisht called her and she left with a plausible excuse
'I'll see you again' the doctor said before leaving her.

'Have you seen Meera ?' Raina asked the young official, Karan Vashisht.
'No, but she should be here soon. Why do you need her?' he asked
'I found something more on Dr Kumar's poison. It seems it has been chemically formulated this time'
'Isn't it always?' he flummoxed. Lack of intelligence was always a put off for Raina but it didn't stop her from gushing about her knowledge.
'No, some of the toxins are biologically organic. This one was completely inorganic'
'You know kid, I have no clue what you mean'
'Urgh! Dial Meera for me, please'
'She'll be back from her shrink. Oh! See there she is'.
'Her shrink?' Raina spoke in undertone. Meera came towards Raina after she talked to her associate official.
'Why are you so distressed?' Raina asked by looking at her appearance.
'Me? Well, the car A/C broke down and I've been sweating crazily'
'Well, I got news' Raina said excitingly.
'Yeah, Karan told me about the inorganice substance'
'Oh! He did' she frowned. Meera guessed the disappointment in her voice. She had to clear it by informing her the newly acquired news.
'Erik Belevich'
'What?'
'He is the Russian Interpol officer joining us'
'His name sounds cute'
'Don't get your hopes high, Interpol officers are nothing but old, sloppy but experienced looking men'
'Do you have to destroy my happiness all the time?' she asked in disbelief.
'No, just occasionally' Meera teased. 'Get back to work lady'

Venom had been unconscious for almost twelve hours. She had dreamt about her happiest memory with her father. Gifted with unnatural talents and intellect, Venom couldn't feel pain easily. She hardly felt any emotion. Love, care, hatred or jealousy were mere words for her, she hadn't actually experienced it. The only relation she ever kept was with her father, he had been a good father. Taught her most of her skills, she was indeed trained by the master of crime. Being a gangster's child, she knew she would never have an ordinary childhood. She learnt to use a 9mm caliber when most children learn to multiply and divide. However, she found special interest in building toxins and inorganic weapons. She gathered knowledge over a period and became the best chemist. Her talents helped her father gain riches, contracts worth millions were made to send a shipment of Venom's toxins. What Venom lacked was the decision of right and wrong. She knew her creations were being exploited for brutal operations but her father always made it sound as if the people deserved it.
'They are bad people, Areem. You're saving lives' her father told her two years ago when he asked her to assasinate people scattered around the globe. Suddenly, the door unbolted from the outside, her father entered. He was dressed in usual white kurta-pyjama. His beard reached his neck, it had turned white completely.
'How are you, Areem?' he gently asked. 'Fine, Papa' she replied.
'Did you do it my child?'
'Yes, Papa. Every single one of them'
He patted her back and complemented on wise thinking and talents.
'Papa, I also got what you asked'. Areem opened her bag and took out a pendrive.
'I used Ivan's print to open the safe in Kumar's hotel room. You were right, they were doing something together. I haven't opened it since you asked me not to do it'. Da-ul took the pendrive and kept it aside. He had some other plans for Areem waiting, the pendrive was a leverage. Leverage against the person he actually wanted.
'Areem, I just have one thing left for you to do'. She looked into her father's eyes, she saw the same urge that was there two years ago.
'Anything, Papa' she firmly said.
