Movie Mania #2 : Mere Dad Ki Maruti
I have just been
wondering if I had Hermione’s Time-Turner. It is one gadget that needs to be
invented soon! How time passes so soon? I mean last week we started with our
new session and there is so much work to do, somebody just destroy this curriculum!
Well besides getting all fussy about the time and work that I
have to do, I managed to take some time out for a movie, Mere Dad Ki Maruti!
Set in Chandigarh,
it is about Sameer Khullar (Saqib Saleem) a college going guy who is flattered
by the pretty Jazzleen (Rhea Chakraborty). To impress Jazzleen, Sameer sort of borrows
his father’s new car that he bought as a wedding gift for his daughter. All hell
breaks loose when Sameer loses the car just before the wedding! After car goes
missing, Sameer and his best friend Gattu form a tissue of lies in order to
save Sameer from the rage of his father.
Not to miss out
Ram Kapoor’s performance as Sameer’s father, my favourite character in the film
and a decent performance by Rhea Chakraborty as Jasleen/Jazzleen who calls
Sameer ‘psychic’ instead of ‘psycho’ (Thinking that their meaning is same).
On the whole, it
was light hearted comedy that brought me back to spirits and revitalized my mind.
